I didn't know much about John Nicholas, but what I had gathered...he was quite the Kyodai Mahjongg fan.
He made many great tilesets for the game, some that are the standards seen in most versions of Kyodai past & present. Sadly he passed away in 2000...along with his site.
Shortly thereafter, Marc Lesselberg compiled all of John's tilesets & hosted them in his memory...
Marc's site went offline in March/2004...
I dedicate this space for John's collection, so fans new & old can enjoy!
